For swimmers who have developed strong foundational skills and are ready to refine their technique and endurance across all strokes.

Students progress through structured levels with a strong emphasis on stroke efficiency, breathing, body position, turns and overall swimming fitness — developing technically proficient, confident swimmers ready for the next stage of their aquatic journey.
Level descriptions
Level Four - All four strokes
Level Five - Distance & new strokes
Level Six - Pacing & squad-ready
Level Four - All four strokes

Students continue to refine freestyle, backstroke and survival backstroke technique. They begin learning correct breaststroke timing and breath, and dolphin kick is introduced. Water safety skills continue to grow through treading water, sculling and deep-water activities.

Level Five - Distance & new strokes

Students work on technique and refine previously taught strokes over a greater distance. Breaststroke arms and basic butterfly arms are introduced at this level.

Level Six - Pacing & squad-ready

Students work on increasing distance and pacing while perfecting technique across all strokes. They also work on a survival sequence. On completion of this level, students have the opportunity to progress into Squad through Melbourne Swimming Club.
