Ms Linda Douglas is the Principal of Ruyton Girls’ School. Linda’s love for Ruyton began in 1995 when she took up a teaching role in the Junior School. Despite moving interstate to take on leadership positions in independent schools, it was always Linda’s dream to return to Ruyton.

Through her involvement in both education and sport Linda has a passion for providing the next generation with opportunities to achieve their personal best and to be engaged and compassionate members of their community.

Linda completed a Bachelor of Education in 1987, and also has a Masters in Education (Curriculum.) She has held a number of teaching and leadership roles at independent schools in Adelaide and Melbourne and led teacher education workshops in schools across Asia Pacific.

From childhood Linda has had a strong involvement in sport, initially as a competitor, then as a coach, judge and an administrator. She represented Australia in Rhythmic Gymnastics at the 1984 Olympic Games.

Today she particularly focuses on the education of girls, to ensure that, as individuals, they are able to become confident, resourceful and resilient.
