Congratulations to the Class of 2018

Congratulations to the Class of 2018

As 2018 draws to a close, the Ruyton community sincerely thanks the Class of 2018 for their generous and enduring contribution to our community, both as leaders and as students. We commend their endeavour, effort, and action over their time at Ruyton and, as a community, we are immensely proud of each and every one of these young women.

The Class of 2018 have achieved their best academically, engaging in the learning that truly matters. They have given so much to our highly-acclaimed performing arts and public speaking programmes and to our continued sporting success. As leaders they have inspired our commitment to raise our voices and take action to support community and environment. They have given of their very best, both individually and as a year level.

We congratulate these young women on their VCE results. Whilst we share a snapshot of these results, we are acutely aware that this data can never communicate the rich and personal stories of grit, determination, courage and success behind each girl’s journey. We acknowledge the hard work and dedication of each of these young women to achieve their best, with the strong support of their parents and the commitment and expertise of our staff.

Snapshot of the 2018 Results:

  • 100% of students achieved their VCE
  • 8% achieved ATARs of 99 and above 40% achieved ATARs of 95 and above
  • 66% achieved ATARs of 90 and above - 83% achieved ATARs of 80 and above
  • The median ATAR was 93.15
  • Our girls achieved nine scores of 50 in Business Management, English, Further Mathematics, Global Politics, History Revolutions and Psychology.

Congratulations to Angela Chau for achieving an ATAR of 99.95, the Dux of Ruyton Girls’ School for 2018.

At Ruyton we realise that a single grade, mark, medal or score never defines our success as a human being. We believe that every young woman has the potential to make her mark on the world; to raise her voice and take action; to be bold; and to live a life of impact and purpose. It is our girls’ endeavour, morals, compassion and actions that we will always admire. As women of character and integrity only they have the power to define themselves and their success. What they do with their learning will always be their strength.

We look forward to following the continuing stories of the Class of 2018 as they make their mark on the world. We wish them well and thank them for the strong legacy they leave at Ruyton.

Recte et Fideliter.
