Pre Preps Head to CERES for Environmental Research

Ruyton Early Learning students have many opportunities to be and become socially responsible ...

Our Pre Prep groups took their learning and research beyond the School gates on Monday when they visited CERES Community Environment Park in Brunswick East. CERES is one of the largest sustainability education providers in Victoria, so it was fitting we continue our work and research into the environment and land offsite with the help of experts and researchers in the field of sustainability.

The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia outlines five learning outcomes for children aged birth to five years, and the second outcome is about how children are connected with and contribute to their world. Ruyton Early Learning students have many opportunities to be and become socially responsible and show respect for the environment and world through learning and teaching experiences in and outside of our School.

Our excursion to CERES built on our learning around appreciation and care for natural and constructed environments, explored relationships with living and non-living things, provided opportunities to observe and respond to change and develop our awareness of the impact of human activity on the world.
