National Tree Day

Sunday 28 July marked the 23rd anniversary of National Tree Day. For more than a decade, Ruyton has partnered with the Friends of Back Creek to help restore and protect natural flora in the nature preserve connecting Lynden Park and South Surrey Park, Camberwell. This year, almost 30 girls and staff responded to the call to put on their gardening gloves and help plant another 1250 indigenous plants in the area. We all enjoyed the sunshine while doing our part for nature, our wellbeing benefitting from time in the outdoors. Much progress has been made in the area, and we encourage the Ruyton community to take a break and experience the walking track for themselves.

The sustainability team hopes to spread this positive attitude and encourage families to bring more greenery to their backyards, or even consider hosting a tree planting event of their own. All information and resources can be found on the Planet Ark Tree Day page. After all, every day should be Tree Day.
