Thank you and congratulations to the Class of 2017

Thank you and congratulations to the Class of 2017

As the year draws to a close the Ruyton community takes this opportunity to sincerely thank the Class of 2017 for their passionate and enduring contribution to our community; as leaders and as students. We have recognised their endeavour, effort, and action over their time at Ruyton and we are immensely proud of each and every one of these young women.

In their time at Ruyton the Class of 2017 have achieved academically, engaging in the learning that matters; they have been part of our continued sporting success and our rich performing arts, public speaking and debating programmes; as leaders they inspired our commitment to supporting community and environment with a vision to help others. They have given of their best, both individually and as a year level.

We congratulate these young women on their VCE results. Whilst we share a snapshot of the results below we are aware that this data in no ways reflects the richness of the stories of grit, determination and success behind each girl’s journey. We acknowledge the work and dedication of our girls but also the strong support of parents and the commitment and expertise of our staff.

Snapshot of the 2017 Results:
  • 100% of students achieved their VCE
  • 11% achieved ATARs of 99+
  • 49% achieved ATARs of 90+
  • 72% achieved ATARs of 80+
  • seven scores of 50 were achieved in Drama, English, English Literature, Further Mathematics, History Revolutions and Psychology

Congratulations to Roshica Ponnampalam who is Dux of 2017 with an ATAR of 99.95.
We also congratulate Trinity Grammar School, our brother school, on their academic excellence this year, reinforcing the strength of our academic partnership.

At Ruyton we realise that a single grade, a mark, a medal or a score never defines our success as a human being. We believe that every young woman has the potential to make her mark on the world; to raise her voice and take action; to be bold; and to live a life of impact and purpose. It is their endeavour, morals, compassion and actions for which we will always truly admire them. As women of character and integrity only they have the power to define themselves and their success.

We look forward to following the continuing stories of the Class of 2017 as they make their mark on the world. We thank them for the strong legacy they leave at Ruyton.

Recte et Fideliter.
