Senior School girls, their mothers and special guests were spellbound to hear Layne Beachley’s presentation about her life growing up in Manly and the challenges she faced competing on the world surfing circuit. Her life story provided the stimulus for her message to inspire the girls to be proud of who they are and what they want to achieve in life. She outlined her determination to provide opportunities for other young women through her foundation Aim for the Stars.
From start to finish, this was our first student-driven International Women’s Day Breakfast, and I would like to acknowledge the Year 12 committee who worked tirelessly to provide such a wonderful opportunity for our community.
