Ruyton Art Committee Makes Little Dresses For Africa

Ruyton Art Committee Makes Little Dresses For Africa

This term was extremely exciting for the Ruyton Art Committee. The girls worked in co-operation with Little Dresses for Africa, a not-for-profit organisation that provides relief to the children of Africa by making little dresses out of old pillow cases. The girls cut fabrics and used sewing machines to stitch together dresses. While some difficulties were encountered, like sewing closed the arm holes, the girls overcame these hurdles and were able to produce beautiful and vibrant dresses for children in need. We would like to thank all those in the Ruyton Community who donated pillow cases, and the girls on the committee who gave up their Tuesday lunchtimes to participate and help such an amazing cause. We would also like to thank Mrs Ebbage who led the Art Committee and created the framework for more exciting projects to come this year.
