Performing Arts Scholarship

Ruyton Girls' School is pleased to offer a number of Performing Arts Scholarships for entry in 2022


To be eligible for the Performing Arts Scholarship, applicants must be:

  • A new student entering Senior School in 2022.
  • An Australian citizen, permanent or temporary resident.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed using a combination of the following selection criteria:

  • Ability to demonstrate excellence in drama performance, dance performance and/or music performance with a passion for the Performing Arts.
  • A commitment to the Performing Arts at Ruyton through academic study in Drama and/or Music through to Year 12.
  • Preparedness to fully engage in the life of the School and participate in a range of co-curricular activities. Details of current co-curricular programs in the performing arts are available here.
  • A willingness to uphold the School’s values and show leadership qualities amongst peers at all times.
  • An ability to exemplify good citizenship values through interactions within the School and outside in the broader community.
  • A commitment to act with respect and uphold Ruyton’s reputation through personal appearance and actions.

The School will review any scholarship awarded on an annual basis and reserves the right to withdraw the award should its conditions fail to be maintained. The scholarship will cover to the completion of Year 12 provided that the applicant continues to meet the selection criteria listed above for the duration of their time as a student at the School. Remission will be discussed at the interview and determined at the discretion of the Principal.

Required documentation

The following documents are required for your application to be processed:

  • the applicant’s most recent school report
  • the applicant’s most current NAPLAN results, or if not available, then a second school report
  • an audition video of no more than five minutes (as a file or link to a file).

Application Process

  1. Complete the Expression of Interest form below.
  2. Applicants selected to move into the second stage will be invited to attend an interview at Ruyton and present a portfolio showing their training, achievements and experiences in the Performing Arts through information, certificates and examiner reports. This interview will also assess a live performance.

Applications close Tuesday 19 October 2021. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to attend an interview.

Performing Arts Scholarships cover remission of tuition fees. They do not cover the cost of application and entry fees, books and stationery, uniform, year level camps, outdoor education or activities programmes and overseas tours, music lessons and hire of musical instruments, subject or resource levies to cover the cost of standard materials used e.g. visual art/photography, online education resource subscriptions. Additional charges are itemised and included on the Fee Statement.
