The Ruyton Ball
The Ruyton Ball occurs once every two years and is
a wonderful event. It is a lot of hard work for the planning
committee, but their reward is in the magnificent
community spirit which is engendered.
This year’s was no exception, aided by the choice of such a
unique setting at the Melbourne Museum. About 400 guests
dressed in ‘glamorous fashion’ to attend the event. The tables
were adorned with candles and cup cakes, and the array of
items for the silent auction was spectacular. The enthusiasm
on the dance floor was certainly a sight to behold, as guests
danced to music provided by the excellent band, Flashback.
Thanks to the generosity of guests and local businesses alike,
over $36,000 was raised to support the Ruyton Community
Scholarship and the next stage of the Ruyton Master plan.
We are most appreciative of the hard work contributed by
Mrs Nikki Wilson and her tireless committee in making this
evening such an outstanding success.
