RuytonGirls’School is located in theheart ofKew, sevenkilometreseast ofMelbourne’s
CBD,and close topublic transport and school bus routes.Established in 1878,Ruyton’s
buildings reflect a combinationof theoldand thenew.At theheart of theSchool is
theheritage-protectedMoretonBayFig tree, standing loyal and true, just likeourmotto,
‘Recteet Fideliter –Upright andFaithful.’
Weare fortunate tohavea single-site campuswhere theEarly LearningCentre,
the Junior School and theSenior School areall linked.This fostersa strong senseof
belonging,whichmanifests itself inawhole-school approach,with students, staff
andparentsworking togetheraspart ofone school community.
Ruytonhas state-of-the-art learning centres, includinga LibraryResourceCentre
(IT/library facilities, theatretteandaudio-visual room), thePrueGilliesBuilding (visual
art facilitiesand theYear 12Centre) and theRoyceTheatre.TheCarolynAnderson
Buildinghouses the Junior School Centre forCreativitywhere thereare classroomsand
specialist facilities formusic,drama, scienceandart.TheRuytonAquaticCentreand
the JohnBatePECentrehouse theSchool’s comprehensivePhysical Education,
HealthandWellbeing facility.
We recognise the importanceofproviding thebest possible learningand teaching
spaces forour studentsand staff,and traditional buildings integratewithmodern
facilities.Currently,weareengaged inabuildingplan toupgradeourYears7and8areas,
our science facilities, the Junior School and theRoyceTheatre.Everynew infrastructure
projectundertaken considers theenvironmental impact and includes,wherepossible,
