Curriculum
The curriculum at Ruyton has developed in direct response to the needs of girls in the twenty-first century, and technology is very much a part of daily school life.
An impressive range of elective subjects available to senior students complements the rich curriculum during the primary years and provides opportunities to explore interests and talents.
Years 7 and 8 students study a range of core subjects, providing a rich and stimulating academic programme. The comprehensive language programme includes an intensive French course as well as French and Chinese.
In Years 9 and 10 students study 5 non-elective subjects as well as a number of elective subjects. Year 10 students also have the opportunity to participate in the International Programme through Ruyton's network of sister schools.
VCE students Years 11 and 12 study English and choose their remaining subjects from an extensive range of units, some of which are offered in conjunction with Trinity Grammar School as part of the Co-ordinate Education Programme
Students who require extra assistance are supported in Tutorial classes and through individual arrangements with our Educational Development Staff. Extension and Enrichment opportunities and programs cater for girls of high academic abilities and those who have particular talent in the academic or co-curricular areas.
