Years 7 and 8 Commence Classes in New Margaret McRae Centre
25 Nov 2015
The excitement has continued at Ruyton this week. A joyful Early Learning Concert that simply made our hearts sing, along with Junior and Senior School camps, have continued the busy pace of Term 4. Without a doubt, classes commencing in the Margaret McRae Centre have been a highlight for many and the fulfilment of a vision. This major building project includes Science facilities, Year 7 and 8 learning areas, Drama studios and an Events and Performance space for the Ruyton community. Clearly focused on providing flexible learning opportunities, this Centre marks a new era in learning at Ruyton.
The new Margaret McRae Centre is a visually stunning building, both inside and out. As beautiful as it is, the building truly came alive on Monday for the first time when the Years 7 and 8 girls walked through the front door and across the bridge. It changed from a building to a vibrant and engaged centre for learning due to the power of the learners. From the very first day our staff and students have embraced the new opportunities the spaces create for flexible learning. It has been wonderful to see the varied learning experiences already taking place and we look forward to these continuing for many years to come.
