It has been my first opportunity this year to be part of the Year 10 tour to Central Australia. I joined the tour group at Uluru on Friday evening, camped under the stars and enjoyed the beautiful sunset over the magnificent rock. I am happy to report back to Year 10 parents that the girls are having a fabulous time and are in very good spirits. Despite the heat, they coped remarkably well with the walk around the base of Uluru and commented that the steep walk through the ‘Valley of the Winds’ at Kata Tjuta was well worth it to see the amazing view at the top. They were fascinated by stories about the indigenous culture shared by our guide and by the stunning rock art seen on our walk around the base of Uluru. I am sure that the Year 10 girls will return with some wonderful stories to relate to their parents on their return home later in the week.
