The Performing Arts House Festival, affectionately known as PAHF, was held over the last two weeks of Term 2. The Festival is a very popular School tradition and involves all girls either on stage or in production roles. The final performances took place on Friday 26 June in the Royce Theatre.
This year the adjudicator was Ms Laura Cooney, an experienced producer and director of children’s theatre who herself is an accomplished performer. Ms Cooney commented on the excellent team work that was shown on the day, as all the girls in each House supported one another to give a wonderful afternoon’s entertainment.
Ms Cooney felt that the Houses were very even in terms of their theatricality, dance, music and productions, however, there were some outstanding moments, which resulted in Daniell House being awarded the PAHF cup.
The students and staff were thoroughly engaged in the wonderful work, which was created by the Year 11 girls. The Year 11s were responsible for writing the scripts, casting, rehearsing, organising music, costumes and props as well as the singing, dancing and musical accompaniment. They also had to manage the multimedia, sound and lighting cues. As a School, we acknowledge their dedication and hard work and thank them for continuing this wonderful tradition.
