On Tuesday 21 October a group of Lit Club students travelled into the city to the Victorian State Library to attend the Inky Awards Ceremony. One of the reasons for attending this event was to support our very own judge, Vinhara G. We were involved in a wide range of activities, including being in the audience for the presentations of the Gold and Silver Awards. We were given the opportunity to meet five authors who were shortlisted for the Gold Award. It was quite amazing to hear the authors speak and to ask them questions. We enjoyed a wonderful morning tea consisting of delicious cupcakes and mini ice creams. They even had small glass bottles of flavoured milk.
After the Inky Awards we went up to the sixth floor of the State Library and worked our way down through the exhibitions. The exhibits ranged from delicate books to old weapons. They even had a display based on Ned Kelly, including his armour.
