Inaugural Junior School Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Expo
22 Nov 2017
Last Thursday morning our Year 6 STEM Leadership Team co-ordinated an expo which showcased STEM teaching across the Junior School. The girls planned and organised the event themselves and we congratulate each of them on their outstanding efforts. The event allowed girls across the School, along with parents and visitors, to gain an insight into the Ruyton Prep to Year 6 STEM Programme.

‘Buzzing, fun and exciting,’ are the words we would use to describe last week’s first ever Ruyton Junior School STEM Expo. It was a big team effort, including a lot of planning, organising and creativity. We were really surprised at how many people walked through the Open Space last Thursday morning to have a look at the various STEM projects! Each year level, from Prep to Year 6, showcased one or two projects, including the Sphero drones and stop motion animation. Despite the mad rush to get things set up, and the need for some quick decision making from the team, all worked out fine and everyone enjoyed the displays! Best of luck to the 2018 Year 6 girls who have the honour of organising the STEM Expo next year.
