On the morning of Sunday 16 October a group of enthusiastic Ruyton girls and staff woke early to walk and run in support of the Cathy Freeman Foundation in the Melbourne Marathon. We had many girls participate in a range of different events, including the 3km walk, 5.7km run and 10km run. We even had Ruyton staff member, Ms Donna Moynagh, tackle the half marathon! The day was a big success with all girls finishing their events with huge smiles on their faces. The Cathy Freeman Foundation is an outstanding organisation that, as a School, we are very proud to support. The Foundation helps to educate Indigenous children in remote communities around Australia. Year 11 students at Ruyton have been fundraising throughout Semester 2 to help financially support the valuable initiatives conducted by the Cathy Freeman Foundation and we would greatly appreciate any further donations towards this worthwhile cause. If you would still like to donate, please click here. We will be finalising our fundraising and drawing our raffle on Friday next week. We look forward to seeing many more girls get involved in such a great event next year.
