On Friday 8 May Ruyton participated in the Bond University Moot Court Competition. Our team comprised of three Year 12 Legal Studies students - Laura M (Senior Counsel), Nicole M (Junior Counsel) and Tara M (Instructing Solicitor), acting for the plaintiff in a negligence matter. After months of preparing their case, the Ruyton team argued their submissions before two judges at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in Southbank. All three of our girls received high praise for their thorough research of the case, as well as the relevant statute and common law. The judges were particularly impressed by Laura M's outstanding 'Queens Counsel-like' delivery at the lectern, which earned her the prestigious Advocacy Merit Award. Congratulations to Laura, Nicole and Tara for their fabulous performance.
