Enrolment Process

When the application for enrolment is lodged, a non-refundable Application Fee is payable to the School. Parents will be contacted approximately 1- 2 years prior to enrolment.

Ruyton has an open entry policy with students offered a place after submission of existing school reports and interview with the Principal or her delegate to determine that appropriate programmes exist to meet the needs of the prospective student and the expectations of her parents.

Ruyton is a non-denominational independent girls’ school providing an academic, liberal education to prepare girls for tertiary studies. As well, to achieve its goals, Ruyton encourages student participation and involvement in both curricular and co-curricular programmes. At interview the diversity of interests of the student as well as the suitability of the academic programmes are discussed. Students in the secondary school undertake the ITSA (Independent Testing Service of Australia) entrance test prior to offer of a place to ensure that the discussion of programmes offered are based on as broad a range of criteria as possible.

Where places at a particular level are limited, preference may be given to girls receiving Ruyton Foundation Scholarships, families with siblings already attending Ruyton and daughters of past students. At times consideration is given to the sisters of boys attending Trinity Grammar School.

A formal offer of a place in the School may then be made and a non-refundable Entrance Fee and Fees in Advance per student are payable to accept a place. Upon receipt of such monies, formal confirmation of the place is provided by the Principal.
