'Digital learning will engage, inspire and transform learning and teaching at Ruyton.'
Growing up digital at Ruyton is about personalised learning, digital citizenship education and parent engagement. Schools have a moral obligation to equip their students and staff with the skills, attitudes and knowledge to be forward-thinking and contributing citizens. At Ruyton we believe a focus on imagination, problem finding as well as problem solving, student creation, curiosity and critical thinking will achieve this. To this end Ruyton has developed the capacity within the School community to behave safely, think critically and participate responsibly in digital environments. As we embed the key concepts of digital citizenship we are mindful that they need to be explicit and seamless, not an add-on but part of the learning experience.
The aim is to make the device invisible and learning the focus, with a unique opportunity to personalise the learning for each student. Our challenge as educators is to prepare students for both active engagement and leadership in an increasingly complex digital world and to encourage collaboration, creativity and risk-taking in learning. Parents can be reassured that, in offering this approach to learning, we are preparing our students for today and tomorrow.
