Library Resource Centre

An integral element of Ruyton is our Library Resource Centre, which incorporates library facilities for Junior and Senior Schools. The Centre provides a vast selection of literature, with a number of quiet corners to encourage reading. Well-resourced with an excellent range of research material, the LRC also offers up-to-date technology facilities and training in effective online research using the Internet and Intranet.

Junior School classes have weekly sessions in the Centre, where skills lessons develop an understanding of the operational aspects of the Centre as well as supporting the research involved in the integrated studies units. The classroom literature programmes from Kindergarten to Year 12 are designed in collaboration with the teacher-librarians to celebrate the joy of reading by introducing an appropriate range of books including new titles, together with authors and illustrators.

For girls in the Senior School, the Centre provides an ideal venue for independent work and research, whilst classes may be timetabled in the LRC for reading or to expand their research skills and undertake individual projects, with the guidance of experienced staff.
